Hello, I am Sydney Laidacker and I am very excited to be apart of the High Post staff this year. This is my second year of journalism and I’m ecstatic about it. I am very excited to be starting my second year of Multimedia Journalism. I am taking this class because I want my future career to be in journalism. Last year I took this class and I really enjoyed and benefited from it. This class gave me a lot of new knowledge that I continue to use today, and I am hoping to expand that knowledge. I know that I am going to carry many things that I will learn in this class to the next chapter of my life. I I am ready to take a step outside of my comfort zone while take new risks and experiencing a new way of seeing the world. I want to be an asset to the High Post and make it the best that it can possibly be. This year I want to venture outside my comfort zone more than I did last year. An improvement that I want to make from last year is to have more in-depth and heartfelt interviews. As a future career I am set on going into mass media productions. My goal is to become an editor for a major magazine like People. I know that it’s going to take a lot of patience, determination, and hard work to get to where I want to go, but believe and know that I can and will achieve my dreams and goals. I am willing to do whatever it takes to be an extraordinary writing and to be a journalist. I want to get to know a person’s story, not just what they are good at. Some hobbies of mine are writing, drawing, singing, and acting. I love theatre, and I’m a member of the drama club. I was apart of a few school productions including Peter Pan Jr., The Lion King Jr., and Man of La Mancha. I’m also in marching band and I’m apart of the colorguard. I am apart of the French Honor Society as well, and I’ve been taking French since 7th grade. I was in Choral Cats for two years. I also have a younger brother named Austin.
