Monster Cookie Mason Jar Holiday Gift D.I.Y.

Monster Cookie D.I.Y.

Ingredients to put in jar:

  • 5 tablespoons of granulated sugar

 

  • ½  cup brown sugar

 

  • 1 ½  cups of all-purpose flour

 

  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda

 

  • ½ teaspoon of salt

 

  • ½  cup of chocolate chips

 

  • ¾  cup of m&m’s

 

 

 

 

Ingredients you need to add to Mix:

  • ½ cup of butter, softened

 

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

 

  • 1 large egg

 

 

 

 

Materials:

  • Mason Jar

 

  • Ribbon

 

  • Card stock to put a message on

 

 

Directions for putting the mason jar together:

 

 

 

1.) In mason jar start by adding the flour in and making the first layer.  Next, add the baking soda and salt. Tap the jar on the counter to level out.

 

 

 

2.) Now spoon in the brown sugar and press down to make another layer. Then add the sugar.

 

 

 

 

3.) Now add the chocolate chips and the m&m’s.  Now seal the jar.

 

 

*These jars can last up to 1 to 2 months.

 

Directions for baking the cookies:

 

1.) First, Preheat oven to 350.  Take a baking sheet and spray with cooking spray or line with parchment paper.

 

2.) In a large bowl beat the butter, egg, and the vanilla extract.

 

3.) Next dump the jar of ingredients into the mixture and stir until all is completely combined.

 

4.) Refrigerate cookie dough for 15 minutes.

 

5.) Next, scoop dough onto the cookie sheet.  (About 2 tablespoons each)

 

6.) Bake cookies for 8-10 minutes or until edges slightly crispy.

 

7.) Remove from the pan to a cooling rack.

 

Directions for making the card to the mason jar:

 

 

1.) Hole punch the card and put the ribbon through the hole.  Tie the ribbon around the mason jar.

 

 

 

 

2.)Now take a piece card stock and fold it in half.  On the inside of the card write the directions.  On the outside of the card write a cute little message.

 

 

 

 

 

3.)Now you can give the mason jar to your loved ones.
