The High Post

Ever since we moved to PA, I loved sports in particular baseball. I’ve been playing baseball since I was four years old. No matter where I was I wanted to drop everything, pick up a bat and a glove, and just play. Every pirates game my dad and I would go to I’d keep track of all of the stats for the game like each individual player's hits, errors, homeruns, RBI’s etc. As I got older my love for the game got greater, that's when I realized that I wanted to do something in the baseball field. That’s when I got to thinking of what I could do to keep connected with baseball as I got older.

Last year in my English class I really enjoyed writing about the World Series and just news about baseball like players being traded, new players, injuries, or players in the spotlight. My English teacher Mrs. Stallings saw my writing about the World Series though my journal and suggested that I take journalism next year and that I would be writing about sports in general. That sounded like a blast to me so I took her advice and start writing for the school newspaper next year. I couldn’t wait to start writing! That’s when it hit me, I realized what I wanted to do as a profession. I wanted to enter that sports field in reporting the scores or summarize the games. I decided that I was gonna major in Sports management at IUP. I am also going to play baseball in college as my main sport. That is a little about me and what I want to do in the future.
