Senior soccer standout and D1 Eastern Michigan commit Annalyse Bauer made history when she became Greater Latrobe’s all-time leading scorer in girls’ soccer. Bauer broke the program record with her 62nd career goal in a thrilling 8-0 win over Armstrong on Rossi Field on September 15, 2025.
In front of a loud home crowd, Bauer found the back of the net four times, all coming in the second half of the game. The moment marked a milestone years in the making and highlighted the impact she’s had on the Wildcats since her freshman season.
Going into the game, Bauer knew she was only four away from breaking the record. Former Wildcat Robin Reily previously held the record with 61 career goals. Bauer knew this was her chance to get it in front of her home fans. “It was important for me to get it tonight with the goal amount that I needed, and I was just really determined to get it in front of our own fans,” said Bauer.
Bauer admitted she felt pressure leading up to the game. “I felt a little bit of pressure, especially in the first half. I told myself I had to settle down in the second half. That is when I broke it, when I just settled down and played my game and played with my team,” said Bauer.
Going into halftime, the Wildcats led 2-0. Early in the second half, Bauer extended the lead for the Wildcats, tallying her first goal of the night. Minutes later, Bauer struck again, adding her second goal to the board, making the score 4-0.
With two away from the record, the home crowd cheered louder with every touch, sensing history was close. The moment finally came when Bauer buried her fourth and final goal of the half, the 62nd of her career, to officially set a new Greater Latrobe scoring record. ¨I was just really excited because it’s definitely something I was working for this season, and it was a really great accomplishment.¨
Her teammates crowded around her, celebrating her incredible achievement. “They were all really excited for me. They knew going in that they really wanted to get it for me, so they were trying to feed me as many balls as possible,” Bauer said. “But they were all super excited and proud.”
Bauer gave credit to her entire team for helping her not only break the record that night, but also all the goals leading up to that game. “It was definitely a whole team effort, and everyone was working together to help me achieve that,” said Bauer.
Her family also played a big role in helping her reach this point. “They have been really important,” Bauer said. “They are really supportive of me.” Whether it was driving to games, cheering from the sidelines, or encouraging her through tough games, Bauer respects all their support as a major part of her journey.
Looking past this season at Latrobe, Bauer’s soccer career is not finished yet. Bauer has committed to playing Division I soccer at Eastern Michigan. “I am really excited to see what it’s like, the environment, and how hard they will push us. I just really love soccer, so competing at the next level was really something I wanted to do,” Bauer said.
Bauer’s ultimate decision to play at Eastern Michigan came down to the atmosphere between players and coaches. “I really loved the coaches; they are very young and welcoming, and energetic, and that’s definitely one of the main reasons I went there,” Bauer said.
While Bauer is looking forward to her future career, she will not forget her time at Latrobe. “There have been a lot of great players in the program, so it’s been really cool to be able to play with all of them,” said Bauer.
Bauer added that playing with top-level athletes who also came through Latrobe has definitely benefited her now as a senior. “I was really close with Ella Bulava my freshman year, and she was someone I really looked up to while I got to play with her. She is a really great player,” said Bauer. She also credited Reagan and Robin Reilly, Sophia DeCerb, Ava Yurko, and Maddie Petruzzi, all former Latrobe athletes who are now playing Division I soccer.
Breaking the record wasn’t just a personal achievement but a testament to the hard work, dedication, and passion for the game. As Bauer finishes her senior season and prepares to take her talents to Eastern Michigan, her milestone will stand as a memorable highlight of her career at Latrobe.
