Mercedes Manners is a senior at Greater Latrobe High School and she is so excited to be a part of the staff this year. She spent her younger years in Berlin, PA when she then moved to Latrobe, PA in kindergarten. Mercedes has learned so much as a person, as well as a student here at Greater Latrobe. She has experienced writing and reading with Mrs.Stallings in a different aspect, Academic English III. She is so excited to grow as a person and as a journalist, in which Mrs.Stallings never fails to push her as a student to use her knowledge to the best of her ability. Mercedes grew so much in the last year, where she went from not taking risks to being open to them when the opportunity arose. This will greatly help her in journalism this year, in which she will not be afraid to use her knowledge to compose creative and unique pieces. After Mercedes graduates high school, she would love to get into a four-year college that has a good medical school where she can then do another four years. Mercedes plans to major in biology, where she will then go through several years of school to pursue her dream job of a radiologist. Mercedes’s interest in the medical field and upcoming technology will allow her to give insight to the reader’s on what is going on around them. Mercedes works at Westmoreland Mall, in which her love for fashion will encourage others to learn more about the topic and the latest styles. Lasty, Mercedes loves to spend her free time with her family and friends. Mercedes is so excited to challenge herself as well as her peers, in order to bring the best stories to the community around her.
