The High Post

Maddie Stas , Staff Member

Maddie is ecstatic to contribute to the High Post for the 2017-2018 school year. She feels that her style of writing and passion for telling people stories will be very beneficial for the fellow staff mates and the entire student body. There are many things she  want to accomplish with her platform in the school newspaper. The area of journalism she has the most interest in is entertainment news. She first off want to give a voice to those who don’t feel like they have one. She also want to have a regular column for reviews of new films or books. She thinks it would be another great segment to highlight a student nominated by a teacher in each subject area of our curriculum. This would give students initiative and recognition for all their hard work. Outside of the newspaper, she spends my time on the tennis courts or the lacrosse field. Maddie can’t wait to write articles and make the High Post an exciting read students can’t put down!

Greta Bergman posted this picture along with the caption:
“To the 20 some year old man who grabbed my xxxx during Fort Days last year, to the boy who thought it was okay to make lude, violent, sexual comments about me to his friends, to the raised eyes, stares, and suggestive glances when I walk down the street in a mini skirt or jean shorts, to the boys who think that physical appearance is more important that inner beauty, to the teacher who said “lucky you’re pretty” as a response to the test I failed, to the boy who pushed me down on the playground in grade school because I (a girl) beat him in a race, to all the boys who see girls as objects instead of valued human beings, FOR all of the women who have faced any type of sexism, sexual harassment, or violence. #MeToo
