Gabriella Amatucci, known as Gabby, is a junior at Greater Latrobe Senior High for the 2025-2026 school year. She took Broadcasting her freshman year and is currently taking Video Production II. She is now a part of the WCAT-TV cast as an anchor on the morning announcements. This will be her second year taking Multimedia Journalism and her first year as an editor. Through her work over the past years, she has been a part of Quill and Scroll National Honor Society and also Spanish NHS. She has lived in Latrobe her entire life. She has been a dancer at Laurel Valley Academy of Dance for 13 years, specializing in ballet, tap, lyrical, modern, hip-hop, pointe, acro, and jazz. Through dance, she had the opportunity to dance in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC on national television, and she has also tested her knowledge for Cecchetti ballet up to grade III and is working on grade IV. In school, Gabby likes to spread the light through organizations like Lighthouse Leadership and Key Club. With both of those clubs, she represents the school, students, and community. She is also an involved member of the Recycling Club, where she helps collect all the recycling weekly and represents the club as a secretary. Gabby enjoys focusing on her academics and is a high-honor student. She plans on pursuing a career in journalism or broadcasting, following both her brother’s footsteps by going to Saint Vincent. She is so excited to lead this amazing staff and hopefully build friendships along the way.
Gracie Mahanes, Staff Writer
Gracie is a senior at Greater Latrobe, when she is not at school you can find her working at Tropical Smoothie Cafe, hanging out with her friends and family, or at the gym. This is her second year as a member of the High Post. Gracie enjoys writing with descriptive words that make you feel like you are right there with her. Gracie’s column, Overflowing With Gracie, holds a special spot in her heart. She writes from her perspective on topics that are trending and relatable. This year, Gracie plans to turn Overflowing With Gracie into a podcast and invite special guests onto the show. Gracie took broadcasting in her freshman year of high school but soon found out she was not a big fan of being on the big screen. Writing has always been one of her passions, so joining Journalism has been an experience she will never forget. After high school, Gracie plans on continuing her education and studying something in business with a minor in marketing. She has visited many colleges but the two that stand out the most are Duquesne and Penn State. In the next 10-15 years she hopes to own her own business. Gracie can’t wait to see what the school year brings.
