Greater Latrobe 7th graders, Lucy Vrable and Holly Planinsek, were first place winners in the Westmoreland
County Gifted Coalition Middle School Gingerbread House Competition. The students had to research famous
architecture and build a gingerbread house to scale; providing blueprints and drawings along with their house.
The girls’ inspiration for their gingerbread house was Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater.
