Latrobe Hosts Penn-Trafford

Latrobe comes back home after a two-game road trip that they split with a win at Connellsville 34-27, and a loss at Mckeesport 34-14. Coming into this game against Penn-Trafford, Latrobe is behind Gateway for the fourth spot in the Foothills Conference. While Penn-Trafford has already clinched a spot for the playoffs this season, they might not give in too easily.

Penn-Trafford is back in the postseason for the 23rd time in the past 25 years. A huge reason why Latrobe lost last week at Mckeesport was because they gave up four 40+ yard touchdowns. If Latrobe wants to find their ways in the win column for more than one week, they have to eliminate all the big plays that they give up. Latrobe averages 17 points per game this season, and gives up an average of 33 points per game on defense.

Latrobe has yet to win at home this season, and both of their wins have come at Derry and at Connellsville. Penn-Trafford’s only loss this season came on the road against Washington 42-21. Coach Marucco has never led his team to beat Penn-Trafford in his coaching career. Maybe that can change tonight at seven o’clock at Legion Keener Memorial Stadium.
