Do It Yourself Bird Feeders

D.I.Y. Bird Feeders

Materials:

  • 20 oz. Plastic bottle (you can use gatorade, soda, tea, any bottle works)
  • Two wooden spoons
  • Sharpie marker
  • Craft knife
  • Scissors
  • Floral wire
  • Bird Seeds

Directions:

Step 1:  Using a sharpie marker, draw a small circle on one side of the bottle about 4 inches from the bottom. Cut it out using the craft knife and make sure the end of the spoon fits into the hole.

Step 2: Directly opposite this hole, cut a slightly larger hole using the craft knife. Make sure the big end of the spoon can rest in the hole.

Step 3: Repeat this process, but 2 inches from the bottom instead of 4.  Also use the opposite sides of the bottle so your spoons are at a 90 degree angle to one another.

Step 4: Stick the wooden spoons in the holes and hot glue them in to place.   Then fill up the bottle with bird seeds.

Step 5: Using the floral wire around the neck of the bottle wrap the wire around. Then using another piece of wire make a handle by wrapping it around the wire on the neck of the bottle on both sides.  Then screw the cap on.

Step 6:  Hang in a tree and let the birds all enjoy.
