NFL Postseason

The Stats After The Fact

NFL Postseason

Carolina Panthers
The panthers have been hot the whole season, finishing with a record of 15-1. They seemed to breeze through the season only having a few close matchups followed with a lonesome loss. Carolina had the NFC south locked up with three games remaining in the season. The Panthers are fueled by their star quarterback, Cam Newton, who had led them to their successful season. Not to mention their offensive line has players like Luke Kuechly and Josh Norman who are superhuman. With injured players such as Jonathan Stewart, Ted Jin, and Thomas Davis coming back for the playoffs, I see them having a good chance in advancing to the Superbowl. Especially after their huge win against seattle, they just need to finish the way they start.

Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals had the NFC west locked up due to finishing the season with a pretty good record of 13-3. Carson Palmer, the Cards Qb, has been on fire the entire season. This is expected though because he has the ever so great wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald to pass to. Defensively Arizona makes it hard to gain yardage having Dwight Freeney and Calais Campbell terrorizing opposing quarterbacks. The Cardinals are hot and will continue to stay hot until someone is able to cool them down. The Cards were able to come up with a win against Green Bay in a thriller of a game, but that’s just how they win, with style. They look to do so again when they head to charlotte to face the Panthers.

NFC championship game
The Panthers and Cardinals last faced one another in the playoffs of 2015 where Carolina came up with a 27-16 win. Quite frankly i’m going to say the score may just be exactly the same. The panthers offense is practically untouchable as they put up high number every game. But Arizona is still ranked seven spots ahead of them in the offensive category, being second. On the other end the Panthers have the number one defense in the NFL, but the Cardinals aren’t far behind being in third. Jonathan Stewart and Cam Newton will be their greatest factors during the game. On the Cardinals end Larry FItzgerald and Carson Palmer will take control for them. Unlike most of Carolina’s huge, blow away wins, the championship game is going to literally be a battle of the best, Offensively and defensively. Panthers win 28-21 and head to superbowl 50.

Patriots
It’s no surprise that Brady has yet again led his team to the AFC championship game. The Pats are returning as superbowl champions so they have something to live up to. The Tom Brady and Gronkowski duo is the best in the league. Brady even has Julian Edelman who has stepped up more recently in the Wide receiver position. The Pats have a deep secondary and a balanced backfield with Legarrette Blount and Shane Vereen. Overall they have a patient offense led by Brady. As long as they play the way they have for the majority of the season they should see their winning way continue through the season.

Broncos
Peyton Manning has made some almighty comeback in the last few games of the season to lead his team to the AFC championship game. Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas fuel the receiving game for the Broncos, putting up over a combined 150 yards per game. Ronnie Hillman has stepped up in the rushing game, looking like he was shot from a cannon every time he touches the ball. They have a balance on offense and defense each providing much help in their successful season. It will take an 100% by everyone of the Broncos to ensure a spot in super bowl 50.

AFC championship Game
When the Broncos and Patriots faced one another in the regular season the Broncos came up with the win in overtime. Gronkowski, Brady’s go to guy was out with an injury. Basically Im saying that whenever you have a healthy Brady and healthy Gronk, you’re going to win the game. It’s going to take a lot for the broncos defense to shut down the Pats offense. Both teams respectively have similar defenses, but New England’s offense is vastly better than Denver. Like I said before, if everyone on Denver plays to their best of ability they have a chance, otherwise you can just hand Brady another win and another Super Bowl appearance. I’m going with the Patriots winning over the Broncos by a score of 31-14.

Super Bowl 50
Super Bowl 50 is going to be a battle of the best quarterbacks. Both Cam and Brady are in the race for MVP and whoever ends up winning the superbowl is probably going to end up winning the MVP race. Carolina’s defense is unbelievable with Luke Kuechly and Kawann Short tearing up opposing defenses, if anyone is able to stop Brady and Gronk it’s going to be them. If Carolina’s defense is able to shut them down and Cam can power his offense with his own running game, passing to Ted Jin and Jonathan Stewart running game, Carolina is going to be able to win. Either way it’s going to be close. Because if they can’t shut Gronk/Brady duo down it is all over. Im taking the Panthers with the 21-14 win to take home Super Bowl 50.
