Every girl has a different experience finding their dress, and every story is unique and interesting in its own way. Finding the perfect dress can be stressful, but so fun and special at the same time. Homecoming can be a stressful time for most girls preparing for the big event. There is so much to do before the big day comes, from getting a date (if you choose to) to choosing a photo shoot location. Maybe you’re getting your nails or hair done ahead of time, so get that appointment on the books early!
Another primary part of Homecoming preparation is the dress. The fit, color, style, and size of the dress are all crucial and require a significant amount of time to finalize. There are just so many stores to go to, but even once you find “the one,” you will perhaps need to have alterations made to it in order to make it ideal. That is why you should buy your dress ahead of time, in person or online. Shopping online can be wonderful, but if you don’t like the dress when it comes in, you have to waste more time with returns or alterations. However, once you finally find that perfect dress, it’s all worth it.

A couple of girls have absolutely no issues finding their dress. Greater Latrobe Senior High School sophomore, Averi Pellis found hers last season in the first week of August. She only had to visit one store, MB Prom, to find her ideal dress. “I was really fortunate to only need to visit one store,” Averi says. “It fits great and the color is so pretty.”
For others, it takes a little extra work. Nina Carroll, a junior at Greater Latrobe, checked first

on the Internet, but was unable to find something she liked. She then traveled to MB Prom and found a dress she loved, with one catch: it wasn’t her size, and they didn’t have it in another size. Determined to wear it, she had it sent to her and then had it altered to fit like a glove. I love the color, and it looks great now,” Nina responds.
Elliana Hutchinson, a senior at Greater Latrobe, is employed by MB Prom as the “Glambassador.” She models and wears the store’s dresses on their public Instagram account every week, helping to flaunt the unique styles found at MB Prom. When it was time for her to buy her own dress, it was a snap. “It was very easy, the first dress I tried on,” she says.
Every girl’s search for her Homecoming dress is different, and all are special. The hunt can be worrisome here and there, but it’s also thrilling, memorable, and all part of what makes Homecoming all the more magical.
