Boys Basketball:
On March 11, the Boys’ Basketball team traveled to the University of Johnstown for the second round of the PIAA Playoffs. This game ended their season after the team suffered a tough loss, 41 – 67, to Greater Johnstown. The Boys Basketball team ended their season with an overall record of 20-7.
Hockey:
On March 11, the Hockey team took on Cathedral Prep at RMU in the second round of the Penguins Cup Playoffs. The Ice Cats fell to the Ramblers, 0-2.
Girls Swimming:
On March 14th, the Girls Swimming team traveled to Bucknell for the PIAA Championships. Lauren Bell was the only swimmer to place, taking home eighth in the 100 Butterfly.
Boys Swimming:
On March 14th, the Boys Swimming team competed in the PIAA Championships at Bucknell. The 200 Free Relay set a new school record on Day One and then went on to break their previous record in the Finals.
Baseball:
On March 10th and 12th, the Baseball team opened their season with scrimmages against North Allegheny and Derry. On March 17th, the boys faced Scranton Preparatory in a doubleheader. The team took the first game, 14-2, but dropped the second game, 1-2. The Baseball team hosted Connellsville on March 19th, taking down the Falcons, 8-4.
Softball:
On March 11th and 13th, the Softball team began their season with scrimmages against Yough and Baldwin. On March 18th, the girls beat Norwin, 12-2, in an exhibition game. The team then traveled to Southmoreland to take on the Scotties. Unfortunately, the girls were unable to come away with the win, falling 11-12.
Boys Lacrosse:
On March 8th and 15th, the Boys Lacrosse team opened their season with scrimmages against Freeport and North Hills. On March 17th, the team dominated against Baldwin, taking down the Highlander, 10-4.
Girls Lacrosse:
On March 13th, the Girls Lacrosse team started their season with a scrimmage against Morgantown High School. The team hosted Fairmont Senior High, on March 17th, winning 9-6. On March 30th, the girls faced a tough loss to Oakland Catholic, 4-11. The team traveled to West Virginia to face off against University High, on March 21st, losing 4-16.
Boys Volleyball:
On March 11th, the Boys Volleyball team opened their season with a scrimmage against Butler. The boys faced off against Butler, for the second time, on March 14th, coming out on top 3 sets to 2 sets. The team swept Bishop Guilfoyle in straight sets on March 18th. The boys faced Derry on March 20th. After losing the first set, the team came back winning, 3 sets to 1.
Boys Tennis:
The Boys Tennis team opened their season with a tough 5-0 loss against Gateway on March 17th. On March 20th, the boys fell to Franklin Regional, 5-0.
