Gianna Lewis, Staff Writer
Gianna Lewis is a senior this year at Greater Latrobe High School. She is 17 years old and really enjoys playing softball and learning more about broadcasting and journalism. Currently, she does a half day and takes an online college class, Psychology, through the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg (UPG). She has been in broadcasting since her freshman year of high school and this year is her first year in Multimedia Journalism. In broadcasting, she helps film sporting events, does the morning announcements, edits hype videos, showcases projects around the school for what is new and going on, and films voiceovers. A couple of her favorite stories she covered last year in broadcasting are the softball hype video, the Marine Corps informational video, the announcements introduction, and an interview with Antia Kozinko about her creative jewelry and beading styles. She has been involved in softball for over eight years and this is her final year playing outfield for the Wildcats. Gianna is involved in many clubs and is the President of Key Club, the secretary of the Student Council, and the secretary and treasurer of SADD Club. One of her favorite things she loves to do is to cover sports teams, inside and outside of school, and be involved in the school community. Outside of school, she loves to babysit, be active outdoors, listen to music, have fun on the farm, spend time with family and friends, and watch professional sports of all kinds. She has two brothers, Franco (19) and Anthony (20). Her brother Franco joined the United States Marine Corps in 2022/23, and Anthony goes to college at UPG and is a senior. She looks forward to going to the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg next year, 2024-2025, to major in education or sports journalism.
