Nothing but smiles from Belle Blossey as she was announced as Latrobe’s newest member of royalty! Belle was crowned as Homecoming Queen on Friday, September 29, as she stood alongside four of her classmates; Maddie Duda, Zoey Favata, Sarah Hoffman, and Abigail Wolfgang. When the crown was placed on her head by former queen Paige Kunkelmann, she felt elated. “That moment was so surreal. This was such a fun experience!” said Belle.

Belle is more than a Homecoming Queen, she is a key member of the girls’ varsity basketball team and captain of the field hockey team providing a strong leadership role for both. She is also an excellent student earning a spot in National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and Spanish Honor Society. She is also president of her class and has a large role in Student Council.

When asking Belle if she was nervous about the big announcement she responds, ” I wasn’t nervous, I was more excited to be a part of it. Any of the girls on the field would have been a great choice. I had great experience with some wonderful people,” said Belle.

Hanging out with her friends and family in her free time is her favorite hobby. She is employed at Dino’s Sports Lounge working close by some of her best friends. Belle wants to enjoy every second of her senior year to make it memorable. She said, “This was a great way to start my senior year! It doesn’t feel real.”

When the day finally sunk into her head she had many thoughts looking back on the night. ” I felt more lucky than anything. I am so grateful for my family and friends, leading up to the day they were all so helpful and caring. They were also super supportive and happy for me. Looking back I felt so thankful and loved,” said Belle.

Her plans for the future are to go to a 4-year university, to major in communications. Belle is extremely excited to see what her future holds. Although she is unsure what college she will attend next fall, having her personable and charismatic personality will help to guide her through all her endeavors.

As one can see Belle is a very well-rounded individual, who always finds a way to balance school, sports, and work while maintaining good relationships. Congratulations Belle!!

I have the pleasure of knowing Belle on a deeper level, as a big sister and a best friend. She is a great role model who I and many others look up to. She is an extremely caring and supportive person, who is kind to everyone, and always has an enthusiastic and positive outlook on the world surrounding her.
