Brooke Kokoska, Staff writer
Hello! I am Brooke Kokoska and I am a Junior at Greater Latrobe High School. I am in Multimedia Journalism and by taking this class I hope to improve my interviewing skills. I took this class to give me a better understanding of what it is like to be a professional writer. I have an older sister, Taylor, who currently works for the Sacramento Kings in business and marketing. She just recently got promoted to assistant manager which was a huge accomplishment for her. Also, I have an older brother, Zach, who plays baseball at Kansas State. Two years ago, Zach won baseball Gatorade player of the year for Pennsylvania and his trophy is in the glass trophy case in the lobby. Both of my siblings have graduated from Greater Latrobe. During my free time I like to play basketball and be outside. I have been playing basketball since I was seven years old. The season starts in November and lasts throughout February. I have two dogs, a Puggle and Jack Russell Terrier, that I like to take on walks. We rescued them from a shelter when they were puppies and ever since then they have been my best friends. I can already tell this school year is by far going to be the hardest academic year but I am up for the challenge. I am going to be taking the SAT’s in November, which I am very nervous about. I am very excited to be part of the High Post and to get a real feel of what it’s like to be a journalist. I plan on going to college to be an Elementary school teacher. I want to teach somewhere between third and fifth grade. I don’t think I want to go to college out of state but I’m not sure yet. I am going to keep researching colleges and I hope to know where I want to go by the end of this year.
