Hello, Adele is number one

Being her first single in three years, Adele released her newest song “Hello” on October 23, 2015, the lead single for her upcoming album 25. It also made the Billboard Hot 100 being Adele’s fourth number one on these charts. The song has the largest opening week sales than any song in the last three years.

Co-written by Greg Kurstin, the song is a power ballad about regret and lost love. In her lyrics, Adele tells about her current relationships she has with the people she loves. The lyrics “Hello from the other side” talks of the transition into adulthood and losing touch with your loved ones because everyone’s lives move in different directions.

The song rose from number 45 to nine in just three days on the Radio Songs chart of the Billboard Hot 100. It also sold 1,112,000 digital copies in one week making it the first to do so. In the first three weeks, the song sold 2,227,000 digital copies in the United States.

The music video debuted and reached 27.7 million views in just 24 hours. It beat out Miley Cyrus’s “Wrecking Ball” by reaching 100 views in five days. The “Hello” music video shows of a woman experiencing a recent break-up who calls a younger version of herself. Alongside Adele in the video is actor Tristan Wilds known for the hit tv show 90210.

“Hello” is a beautiful song sung by a beautiful woman and can be heard blasting from people’s radios and belting from their mouths.
