    Tattoos Express Feelings and Remembrance

"I got my tattoo for my daughter Johanna. I had old scars that I didn’t want her to see as she grows up. Also, since I got pregnant she changed a lot about me and I no longer do that negative things (cutting). I got a sky in the background because Skye is her middle name. I’d rather her grow up looking at a piece of art than ugly scars."

"I got the tattoo in memory of my uncle. He had the “Jesus Christ Superstar” logo tattooed on him, so I got the same thing only a little more realistic. I loved my uncle more than anything and getting that tattoo was one of my ways of honoring him."

"There is a story to my tattoo - the meaning behind it is very symbolic in many of ways. My tattoo is a B-17 bomber plane which my Great Grandfather flew during WWII. The picture is actually the one he flew, his numbers are on the plane and everything. He was one of the biggest father figures I ever had. So, I got it in his honor of serving our country and being there for me."

"I got my first tattoo for my best friend Cheyenne Uncapher. I got a heart with wings because it was something that Chey would draw a lot and because this is actually one of her drawings. The design and color scheme was all her! I didn’t change a thing. Cheyenne got the word ‘forever’ on her wrist and I had it incorporated into my tattoo to resemble that she will forever be by my side and always be my friend."

"The story behind my tattoo is to be dedicated to my best friend Zach Colucci who passed away September 17th, 2011. He was my best friend and it is a great example to keep his memory living on forever."

"There is a story behind the star I have underneath my left arm. It’s a star that the sailors used to get. It symbolizes the northern star, which in turn “helps you find your way back home”. I got it colored orange and black because of Latrobe and since I’m from here, no matter where I go..I’ll always be able to find my way back home. "

"The story behind my tattoo is that my mom started a company to get money for bladder cancer after my grandfather died from it. The name of the company is “Seize the Ribbon” which she got from the saying Carpe Diem and that means “Seize the Day” in Italian. "

"The story behind my tattoo is that my family is separated and it has two feathers - one for my mom and my sister, the antler is pretty much my symbol and the signature in it is my dad’s. Then there is a ribbon to hold us all together as one ! "

"There is a story behind all of my tattoos but there is one very special to me. When I first met Sarah Jane, we were at a birthday party. Someone was throwing around swedish fish, some being all over the floor, and the birthday girl’s parents came in and called them “ninnie fish”. So, since that was the day Sarah and I became close friends her nickname had to be “Ninnie”. She was my best friend for a long time back in the day and I wanted to make an impact like she did one me."
