Boys Basketball:
On February 18th, the Boys Basketball team defeated Kiski, 59-51, in the first round of WPIAL Playoffs. This win secured the team a spot in the state playoffs. In the second round of playoffs, the boys faced off against Montour on February 21st. The team suffered a tough loss to the Spartans, 52-60.
Girls Basketball:
On February 14th, the Girls Basketball team fell to Thomas Jefferson, 47-68, in the first round of the WPIAL Playoffs. This loss ended the girls season. The team finished with an overall record of 11-11.
Hockey:
On February 18th, the Ice Cats fell to Bishop McCort, 5-1. The team bounced back with a 6-2 victory over Norwin on February 20th.
Boys Wrestling:
The Boys Wrestling team competed in the District 7 AAA Section East Tournament on February 15th. Three Wildcats wrestlers took home first place; Luke Willochell, Leo Joseph, and Hunter Snyder. Nico Dominick and Marco Scarton earned fifth place. On February 21st, select wrestlers traveled to Canon McMillan to compete in the District 7 AAA Tournament. Hunter Snyder took home third, winning by technical fall. Luke Willochell lost in the championship finals, placing second. Leo Joseph won by decision in the championship finals, making him the WPIAL Champion. This WPIAL title was Leo’s first.
Girls Wrestling:
On February 15th, the Girls Wrestling team competed in the WPIAL Championship. Two wrestlers qualified for regionals, Lili Maxwell and Liz Kantoris. Lili placed sixth and Liz placed fifth.
