On Tuesday, October 8, Mrs. Myers and Mrs. Prady's Greater Latrobe Junior High Engineering Design classes
participated in the annual Pumpkin Drop at Rotary Park. Students designed contraptions to protect pumpkins
from a 100 foot drop. The Pleasant Unity and Youngstown Fire Departments came to help the students drop
their pumpkins off the ladder truck. Six teams had pumpkins survive the fall and they will travel to West Virginia
University on October 25 to compete in a regional engineering competition. Naser Foods generously donated
pumpkins for the students to use in the event.
