Greater Latrobe Senior High School students who are taking U.S. History I this semester
had the opportunity to visit Fort Ligonier on Thursday, September 26th. Students rotated through
six stations where they learned about various topics of the time including; medicine and disease
transmission, gunpowder science and how cannons worked, a soldier’s life and camp conditions,
literature and primary sources (including quill pen writing), and architecture of the fort, where
they had the chance to experience hands on carpentry using an original wood plane. Students
