Courtney Schmauch
Courtney Schmauch is currently a senior at Greater Latrobe Senior High School and this is her first year taking Multimedia Journalism. Courtney is a very determined, courageous and bright young lady. She has a very busy schedule when not at Greater Latrobe during school time, participating in many activities. She spends most of her time training for track and field, practicing for motocross, going to karate, and being involved with the outdoors. She started getting involved with motocross because it takes all of her worries away and it makes her very happy when doing this sport. She will keep training throughout this year, go to indoor races during the winter and begin competing outdoors next year. This is by far her favorite thing to do in any free time she has. When not riding dirtbikes, she’s training for track and field. She has been in track and field for four years now, and she lettered her junior year. She runs the 100, 200, and 400 meter dash. She plans to be in a relay too this year. She is also the only senior girl sprinter on the team this year. With her working five days a week every single week, she plans to get a scholarship for running. She has plans to run in college and will continue to train very hard to reach the goals that she has in mind. Courtney has a very busy schedule between riding dirtbikes, karate, and track and field. When she has free time she also loves to play guitar. She enjoys playing to relieve stress and she also tries to write personal songs that mean something to her and her experiences. Any other free time can be taken up by being outdoors. She loves to fish and hunt. Her and her family own hunting property in Indiana PA, and they’re always up there having fun, whether it’s riding around on quads or hunting. Overall, Courtney has a very busy life and loves making time to do the things she loves, but she always puts school and family first.
