Brena Dwyer, Staff Writer
Hi! I am Brena Dwyer and I'm a senior here at Greater Latrobe Senior High School. I took this class to improve my writing and social skills, and I hope to make my mark at Greater Latrobe as I graduate. I enjoy reading, drawing, spending time with my friends, karate, and writing. I suffer from lack of coordination, so you can usually find me in the hallways tripping over my own feet or tripping over absolutely nothing. As a child, I was always reading. I don't think there was a day that I didn't read a book when I was little. Inside of school, I am part of NAHS (National Art Honor Society), and outside of school I do karate. I have been in NAHS for three years, and I really want to go to school for art therapy. Art has been a big part of my life ever since I was little. I really enjoy drawing and painting and it has become my way of expressing myself. I've been in karate for 5 years and it is a huge part of my life. I started on March 15, 2014 and I got promoted to my first degree blackbelt on June 7, 2018, and I'm slowly making it to the second degree. I received my Junior Instructor patch May 9, 2019, and I've been teaching ever since. I really enjoy karate and I plan on continuing on through the ranks.
