Although the 2024-2025 season is coming to an end, the anticipation for the 2025-2026 cheer tryouts are building up and are quickly sneaking up on everyone. With tryouts scheduled for Friday, March 21, the girls have started preparing themselves well in advance, both physically and mentally to ensure they are ready for the big day.
Along with the physical aspect, the mental aspect is just as crucial. The girls are working on building confidence, managing nerves, and trying to stay positive. A senior on the team Liv Leone said, “Practice! Knowing the material well will boost your confidence, every time you practice pretend you’re performing. When you take deep breaths, it’ll calm your nerves and calm your mind. Remember to just always be positive and it’ll help you succeed.” LIv’s advice about how to stay calm and collected during tryouts has been used by many others. Liv has been a varsity cheerleader all four years of her high school career in which she has followed her own advice every single year to calm herself before tryouts. LIv is a clear inspiration to everyone on and off the team.
Although Liv will not be able to cheer next year, Ariana Cramer who is very excited and hopeful for the upcoming season. Ariana is a very dedicated cheerleader, she cheered her sophomore and junior year of high school. Arianna said,“Every year I am a mix of both nervous and excited, but definitely more excited because I am trying out to be on a team that I love and do a sport that I love.” She is most definitely a key part in the team every year and the year to come.
Coming from an upcoming senior like Arianna, tryouts are a whole different experience for an incoming freshman, Mya Wisniewski. Arianna has experienced the high school tryouts and how they are run unlike Mya which is a completely new and different experience for her. Mya is definitely excited to try out but also nervous like anyone else who will be trying out. Although Mya said, “I’m looking forward to meeting everyone who tried out and the final results of it all if I made it.” Mya is very excited and has her own goals for both herself and this season which she will work to achieve.
As the 2024-2025 cheer season comes to an end, the excitement for the upcoming tryouts continues to build. Whether it’s the seasoned veterans like Arianna or the eager newcomers like Mya, ready to take on the challenge, it is clear that everyone is excited for what the season holds. The dedication and passion within the team is what makes this sport so special, and the upcoming tryouts will undoubtedly bring even more incredible moments for everyone to look forward to. As the girls prepare to showcase their best performances. There is no doubt that the 2025-2026 season will be just as memorable and full of energy as the one before it.
