Brynn Dumnich is a vibrant and dedicated freshman at the high school this year, balancing an impressive range of commitments both inside and out of the classroom. Despite this being her first year at the high school she has already made a name for herself by wearing many shoes, each representing her passion and drive for excellence.
Not only is she a dedicated cheerleader for the Greater Latrobe Varsity Cheer team, a competitive cheerleader for TGZ (The Gymnastics Zone) Panthers, a dancer at The Dance Alley, but also a ballet dancer at Westmoreland Youth Ballet. She is very committed to each and every one of her sports even when she is busy at every second of her day.
Despite the demanding nature of these activities, Brynn handles her busy schedule with remarkable poise and determination. She said, “Four sports is definitely a lot to handle on top of school work, but I always have coaches who are willing to work with me, and coaches that know I try my best to help the team.” Brynn knows her schedule is a lot that is why she knows at times she will need the help of her teammates and coaches.
All of her coaches help her in different ways although her one coach for Dance Alley is also her mother. Brynn says, “Having my mom as my teacher is definitely challenging because she knows the things I can do but struggle with and makes me do them because she knows how great of a dancer I can be.” Because Brynn’s entire life has been immersed in dance, she earned the opportunity to teach her own dance classes to the younger kids.Although out of all of her sports she does acknowledge that some are more challenging both mentally and physically than others.
She said, “I would say dance is the hardest for me because I have always been dancing in a group above what I should be and it’s always been hard to keep up, but all of my teachers know me very well and push me past my limit to better me.” Brynn’s determination and growth in dance come from the constant push to overcome obstacles and stretch her capabilities. This unique blend of support and high expectations has not only built her confidence but also solidified her passion for dance.
Even with all of her sports Brynn is still a student-athlete and the student always comes first. Which is why she always gets her schoolwork done as Brynn said, “Finding time for school work is definitely hard, most of the time I use my class time to try and get most of it done, but I try to prioritize as soon as I get home from my practices to do whatever work I have left.” She stays busy throughout the school day as efficiently as possible to not have that extra stress at the end of her night.
With Brynn being a busy person all week, she still does seek out time to have a social life with her friends and family. Since most of her time is overrun by sports she said, “Most of my friends do the same sports as me, so we always get together and have sleepovers on nights that we have the same activities going on. As for my family, I always try to call and make time to visit far away family and enjoy the time I have.” Making those calls to her family and making time to meet up with them is overly important to Brynn to have those times to make memories with her family and friends.
Overall Brynn is very committed to both her schooling, family, friends, and also all of her many sports. She works hard to balance everything and always gives her best effort in everything she does. Whether she’s cheering, dancing, or studying, Brynn’s positive attitude and determination help her stay focused and keep improving. Even with such a busy schedule, she still finds time to hang out with her friends and family, showing how much she values the people around her. Brynn is a great example of how hard work and staying committed can really pay off.
