After a four-hour rain delay, on September 26th, at Franklin Regional High School, both Latrobe doubles teams qualified for WPIALs.  Carlin Bukovac and Allison Massaro, the #2 seed, beat out Gateway 1 and Kiski 2 to qualify. Brooke Coll and Maria Fetter, the #11 seed, won against Hempfield 1 and Franklin Regional 2. Both Latrobe teams had to face each other in the third round. The other match consisted of Franklin Regional 1 and Penn Trafford 1. On Friday, the girls played their last match to determine which place they fell in. Carlin and Allison landed second place after falling to Franklin Regional 1, and Brooke and Maria ended up in fourth after losing to Penn Trafford 1. Both teams traveled to Bethel Park High School the following Wednesday to participate in WPIALs. Carlin and Allison were seeded at #6 and took on Shadyside Academy’s Taylor Shanefelter and Amy Jin. Brooke and Maria were seeded #16 and played against Mt. Lebanon’s Jackie Tang and Michelle Yang. Carlin and Allison fell 5-10 in their match and Brooke and Maria fell 3-10. Both teams were proud of their performance and hope to use this experience to improve next season.
