On September 19, Greater Latrobe’s Quiz League team kicked off the year at Mount Pleasant Senior High School. They played four rounds of a buzzer-style trivia quiz. A proctor asks a question and the first to buzz gets to make a guess. If the person is wrong, and the question was not fully read, the other team can answer. Each correct answer is two points. If the full question is read and the first team answers incorrectly, then the other team can congregate to come up with an answer for one point. The first round was up against Hempfield. After, Greensburg Salem was up. Later on, they took a shot at Norwin. Finally, to wrap up the day, they faced Penn Trafford. Thursday’s varsity players were Autumn Blozowich, Ben Bradley, Brooke Coll, Ryanne Lehman, Charlie Mohler, and Erin Ulewicz. The JV players representing were Miriam Fridg, Sadie Bridge, Alexa Yurko, Kaden Shannon, Julia Zhu, Kate Larson, Skylar Brennan, Henry Bradley, and Ciara Eachus. Thursday was a round-robin. Next time, October 24th, is the final round-robin until bracket play occurs on November 14th.
