Love, Love, Love, I am sitting in class reminiscing about my special Valentine’s Day week. I am not the lovey-dovey type of person, unlike Zyan, but this Valentine’s Day was what I needed. Zyan spoiled me with what I love: Bath! Movie! Love Letter!
Monday was our 16-month anniversary. Unfortunately, I had work scheduled, but when I got home I got a surprise beautiful flowers that were vividly painted yellow and orange and 2 handwritten love notes each saying their divivdual message. My stomach was filled with butterflies and my heart was thumping.
Zyan writes me notes in my lunch every day, and I have kept everyone one. Each day he comes up with a new message, depending on how much time he has they will sometimes be more complex and more thoughtful. I am always so excited to see what he says. Handwritten love notes are my favorite because they show how much Zyan cares. I get to keep them for an eternity.
Little did I know, that was not the only surprise he had for me. In the bathroom, he had a warm bath filled with Epsom salts, and candles like lavender and Cactus Blossom surrounded me. Zyan knew I had not been feeling my best, so he wanted to do something special for me.
After my bath, he picked me out a cute pajama matching set and brushed my hair for me. I got spoiled with acts of kindness! I care more about the sentimental, heartfelt love notes and loving acts. Number 1 neat freak, when I feel my life is getting stressful, I go on a deep clean. Zyan is always putting up with my bossiness, so when he saw I was getting stressed, he did everything in his power to make me feel better. That is true love!
Wednesday, February 14, Zyan planned for us to see the Bob Marley movie. A Christmas present for Zyan and me from my sister-in-law and brother was an AMC gift card, so we could buy 2 tickets, a bag of popcorn, and a drink, my Fanta mix of cherry, watermelon, strawberry, and grape Fanta. Delicious! We nestled into our seats with our buttery popcorn and watched an extraordinary movie. The movie was very interesting and left me singing, “Every little thing, is going to be alright,” all night long.
The best gifts always come from the heart. They are the most impactful gifts because the person thought deeply into them. Even though I see people getting these lovely gifts, like promise rings, clothes, and candies, I would rather have flowers, a bath, a movie, and handwritten notes. Zyan putting his thoughts into something I needed made my Valentine very sentimental. I was spoiled with acts of love, everything I could ask for.
