You see neighbors, friends, even teachers dressed in their christmas sweaters for the holiday season, but what about pets? Pets around Latrobe are showing off their Christmas spirit this year. A few students from Latrobe Senior High School would like to share their animals in their holiday festivities.

Summer Popella, a student at Greater Latrobe, is a part of the GL High Post for her senior year. She has always had a passion for writing, such as poetry or personal narratives. Summer joined multimedia journalism to express her potential writing abilities and share her bittersweet final memories of high school with the students. She is an active member on the high school’s varsity tennis team, with a love for the sport from a young age. In her spare time, Summer enjoys spending quality time with friends in and outside of school. She loves going to football games on Friday nights, joining each other on walks whether it’s simply around town, or multi mile hikes on the mountain. Family has always been an important aspect of Summer’s life, some of her favorite memories are visiting family in Florida with her siblings and close friend. Her plans after high school consist of attending at least four years of college. In her time spent at university, she would like to travel abroad to expand her knowledge and curiosity for the unknown, and experience beautiful and intriguing sites that are yet to be seen. Summer aspires to leave her hometown and discover areas out of her comfort zone. If she were allowed to leave the state for further education, she is interested in spending her early adult years in a place she has never lived nor seen. Although in local terms, she recently toured University of Pittsburgh, as she is still considering state colleges. Academically, Summer has aimed to achieve good grades throughout her high school career. Changing with time and classes she has taken, her favorite subjects are English and science. Her plan is to major in environmental law/science in college, while possibly minoring in journalism. Summer hopes to leave the GL High Post with an array of memorable stories that document her school life and those around her throughout the months of her senior year.
