Summer is the break for outdoor fun, hot weather, and of course concerts. This summer, concerts were finally able to bring the world back together. Various circumstances led to many artists canceling tours for the health and well-being of themselves and others. Many fans were eager to attend the canceled concerts, postponed tours, and venues they longed to visit.
Having an absence of summer concerts previously made the return of artists and bands more significant. The chance to go see live music is a whole different experience. It allows people to embrace their feelings associated with the songs, express themselves through singing or dancing, and just be able to feel the music—a chance to take everything in at once.
Another plus to concertgoers is it brings people together. What’s a better place to make a new friend than where everyone has one thing in common? Music. You never know, the person standing beside you may become your best friend.
Many concert venues in the area hosted various genres of music in the last few months. Some concerts attended by GLSD students included Taylor Swift, Post Malone, Noah Kahan, Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen, Jelly Roll, Dead & Co., Luke Bryan, and The Backseat Lovers.
