Maya Jain and Emily Pierce

Maya Jain and Emily Pierce are the First Doubles team for the Varsity Girls Tennis team.  Last Thursday they won a crucial match that gave our team the win against Mt. Lebanon in the WPIAL quarterfinal playoff match.  Maya and Emily won their match in three sets, 5-7, 7-6, 6-1.  They were down 5-6 in the second set and came back and won the set in a tiebreak (7-6), then pulled out a third set win at 6-1.  This win helped our team to defeat Mt. Lebanon 3-2, and put us into the semi-final match in WPIAL team playoffs.
