Lacrosse Seniors are Celebrated
The Greater Latrobe lacrosse teams celebrates the seniors by a drive-by senior night.
Coach Kaytie Costic of the girls lacrosse team was determined to give her seniors a memorable senior night. On May 4, the lacrosse team was supposed to be preparing for their game against Baldwin, but with the circumstances of the Coronavirus their season was cut short. The team was not ready to let it go and wanted to celebrate their graduating seniors. Over 30 cars lined the streets of the senior’s houses, and the team drove by waving signs and honking their horns. They were all over Latrobe spreading support for Carlin Johns, Ainsley Novotny, Emily Hoffman, Sidnie Gmuer, Taylor Hochard, and Ella Hill. Although it was not the night they expected, they were very grateful for everyone. Novotny was very surprised by it all and she says, “it was something I’ll never forget. I had a feeling something was going to happen, but I never expected to see thirty cars drive up the street with the underclassmen hanging out of the windows. The whole thing made me so happy that they came together to do something for us during this time.”
