TJ Watt AFC Defensive Player of the Month
On Thursday, December 6, 2019, the NFL named TJ Watt, defensive end of the Pittsburgh Steelers, AFC Defensive Player of the Month. TJ had 1.5 sacks in the Steelers 26-24 win over the Colts at home. He recorded 2 sacks in their win against the Rams 17-12. He recorded 1 sack in the loss to the Browns 21-7. And he recorded 1 sack in their win against the Bengals 16-10. And he recorded 1 sack in their win against the Browns 20-13. TJ Watt has 12.5 sacks on this year and his play on the field has made a difference to this team. He also has 3 forced fumbles, which is tied for second in the league. If Watt can continue this pace, he will break James Harrison’s record for the most sacks in a single season. Watt, as of now, is a prime contender for Defensive Player of the Year. The defense has given up about 19 points per game and has turned their season around. After the starting 1-4, the Steelers are 8-6 and are currently the #6 seed in the AFC.
