Euro Lit Final Project

Euro Lit Final Project

European History and Literature is a class like no other. It is a double period combined history and English class, taught by history aficionado Mr. Ferraro and literacy wiz Mrs. Penzera, but what really sets this unique class apart is the performance of their final project.

Each year students in Euro/Lit create a historically, fun-filled evening for family and friends to showcase the material learned throughout the school year. In mid-March, class members divided into groups based on their interests. These groups included set design, lighting, and script writing. “For this year’s Euro project I acted, wrote, filmed and helped produced two of the skits. It was a lot of hard stressful work, but hopefully it will be worth it in the end,” explained senior Sam Brooks. This year European History and Literature students collectively brainstormed the concept of Thursday Night Live.

On Thursday, May 19, 2011, Thursday Night Live will be performed from 6-9p.m. in the Center for Student Creativity. This performance has skits including, The Opening Scene With Our French Maiden, The Godfathers of the Renaissance, Dear Sister, Alice in Wonderland- York versus Lancaster, Superheroes, Celebrity Jeopardy, The Bachelor- starring King Henry VIII, Luther’s World, and a special musical performance by History Boys. “The whole presentation is meant to make people laugh, but also include historical content,” explains senior Chris McKee.

Along with student performances, Mr. Brant, Mrs. Pompelia, and Mrs. Zalewski will be making guest appearances. Thursday Night Live will be a night full of live entertain and laughs for all.
