Mckeesport Pummels Latrobe at Home

The Greater Latrobe Wildcats went to Mckeesport for a 7 pm matchup with the Mckeesport Tigers. Latrobe and Mckeesport exchanged in five turnovers in the first half. In a must win game for Latrobe entering the month of October, Latrobe started to fall apart early. Latrobe found themselves 7-0 in the first quarter. 

After the first quarter Mckeesport led 7-0 when in the second quarter, Latrobe intercepted Mckeesport. On the next Latrobe possession the ball was intercepted which led to a Mckeesport touchdown. Mckeesport was ahead 13-0.

 Latrobe was in a hole down 13-0, when quarterback Bobby Fetter was connecting with wide receiver Nathan Stemmerich for some nice receptions. Eventually the drive want into the redzone and Bobby Fetter took it 13 yards for the Greater Latrobe touchdown. Latrobe missed the extra point and it was 13-6 Mckeesport. Towards the end of the first half, Latrobe gave up another 75 yard rushing touchdown to Mckeesport. With the 2 point conversion make Mckeesport was up 21-6 going into the half.

In Latrobe’s first possession of the second half, Latrobe got off to a good start scoring a rushing touchdown and the two point conversion. The Wildcats only trailed by seven with the score being 21-14. After the possession Mckeesport got a passing touchdown and the extra point make, Mckeesport leads Latrobe 28-14 at the end of the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter Latrobe gave up yet another rushing touchdown, and they ended up winning by a score of 34-14. Latrobe plays Penn-Trafford on Friday October 4 2019, at 7pm at Memorial Stadium. Penn-Trafford has a high powered offense going into their game against Latrobe, while Latrobe’s defense has given up a ton of big plays. Let’s see if the Wildcat spirit can be there on Friday night when Wildcats host Penn-Trafford Warriors.
