Christian Rockwell is apart of an organization called Honor Flight Pittsburgh. The group takes veterans to Washington D.C. every year to visit the memorials. On Saturday, September 29, the group took 44 veterans from Vietnam, seven from the Korean War, and five from World War ll, so 56 veterans in total. The first stop on their tour was the WWll memorial, then the Arlington national cemetery where they saw the changing of the guards. After the Arlington national ceremony, they visited the Marine Corp and Air force memorial. Last but not least the group went to the Korean, Vietnam, and Lincoln memorial where some veterans got emotional due to the majority of them being in the Korean or Vietnam wars. The veterans had the pleasure of having a police escort throughout DC.
