Greater Latrobe seniors Lauren Sigut and Hunter Bodnar recently received the
President’s Volunteer Service Award for their work with the Outdoor Odyssey program.
The primary mission of Outdoor Odyssey “is to pair youth with a mentor and provide
these teams with a unique wilderness experience” at their Laurel Highland camp. They
“incorporate leadership skills, high adventure, and team-building into a week-long
curriculum that sets the stage for a year of follow up activity between mentors and their
teams.”
The President’s Volunteer Service Award Is an initiative of the Corporation for National
and Community Service and is administered by Points of Light. This award “celebrates
the impact we can all make in bettering our communities and our world.”
