To begin the school year at Baggaley Elementary School, each art class started working on a
school wide collaborative piece. Every student designed a feather of their own using line and
pattern. Specific colors were assigned to each grade level and the students painted and then
cut out their feathers. After all were completed, they were organized and displayed as one large
mural in the school. According to art teacher Terri Johnson, “Everyone has enjoyed the display
and the opportunity to snap a picture with our Baggaley Wings!”

About the Writer
Jace O'Barto, Assistant Editor in Chief

My name is Jace O’Barto. I am a junior here at Greater Latrobe High School and my goal is to be delivering news or interviewing celebrities on TV when I am older. A little bit about me is that I have 1 older brother and 1 younger sister. I also have a Golden Retriever named Chipper who is quite a handful. I have been a member of student council since 5th grade, I’m a member of Link Crew, Global Scholars, Spanish National Honor Society, and the men’s volleyball team. Writing for the High Post gives me a chance to explore different areas in the journalism field, get the inside scoop on topics other people wouldn’t usually get a lot of information on, give my opinion on a topic and write about it, and make the voices of people who usually go unheard–heard. Some of my interests are writing (obviously), taking pictures, making people laugh, and politics. I find politics to be very interesting because of the fact that everyone has their own opinion on what is right and what is wrong. Those people have the power to vote on who they believe share those same views. The beauty of this country is that we can disagree on almost anything, but at the end of the day, we all have the freedom to stand united as Americans and pledge our allegiance to the same majestic flag.
