Elementary Art Field Trip
The students of the third grade classes at Latrobe, Baggaley, and Mountain View Elementary Schools attended an art field trip at the Center for Student Creativity, over a span of four days from January 22 to the 25. Each day, one class from each school was able to spend a few hours at the CSC where they learned how to create art through multiple techniques. Four artist from the area volunteered. The students spent an hour with each artist creating clay sculptures, felting, making fish prints, and painting ocean scenes. The trip is put together every year by the art teachers of the elementary schools: Mr.Bolby, Mrs.Hudock, and Ms.Palmer with the support of a grant from the McFeely Rogers Foundation to the Greater Latrobe Partners in Education Foundation. The fun experience provided the third graders with a relaxing day where art was the only thing on their mind.
